Flora Jean (Grey) Tobacco

              It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mom, wife, kookum, sister, auntie, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, Godmother and friend, Flora Jean.

              Flora Jean passed away suddenly and peacefully with her children and family by her side, Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at St. Anthony’s General Hospital in The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 56 years.

              Flora Jean was born Monday, June 25, 1962 in The Pas, Manitoba.  She lived most of her life in Moose Lake and received her education at Moose Lake School.  In her younger years, Flora Jean liked to travel with her Christian friends.

Flora Jean was united in marriage to Raymond Tobacco on April 2, 1997 and they were blessed with four children.

Flora Jean was a very compassionate, loving, caring person and always had a smile when meeting family and friends.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved and cherished dearly.

Flora Jean had a great personality and a sense of humour.  She enjoyed talking on the phone, often joking around and laughing with family and friends.  Flora Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading the Bible to them as often as she could.  If Flora Jean wasn’t camping or berry picking during the summer or out playing bingo, you would find her at home cooking, she especially enjoyed preparing and eating traditional foods.  She loved listening to music and singing.  In fact, she participated regularly at the local Gospel Jamboree.

Flora Jean is survived by her husband Raymond Tobacco; children Noreen (Derrick) Sanderson, Samantha (Arnold) David, Joseph (Tanya); grandchildren Norbert, Deena, Butterfly, Arnold Jr., Larren, Lorraine and Rachel.

Flora Jean is also survived by her sisters Ila (Norman) Sanderson, Irma (Joseph) Lambert, Flora (Lester) Bignell; brothers Abel (Marjorie) Grey, Morris Grey; aunties Brenda Martin, Elizabeth Beardy; uncle John Martin; sisters-in-law Virginia, Maryann, Maria, Carol, Verna, Susan, Florence; brothers-in-law Abraham (Lamis), Samuel, James; stepsons Raymond Jr., Jamie, Alpheus; Godchildren Bianca Buck, Breann Buck, Jayme Nasikapow, Norma Sanderson, Francis McNabb, Melody Umpherville.

Flora Jean was predeceased by parents Rachel and Bert Grey; son Norbert; brothers Roderick, Zaccheus, Percy, Samuel, Jonas, Joseph and Frederick; grandparents Flora and John Martin, Jean and Frederick Grey (York Landing); mother and father-in-law Flora Jane and Solomon Tobacco; sisters-in-law Catherine, Samaria; brothers-in-law Alfred, Irving, Bernard, Paul; aunties and uncles Elizabeth and Bart, Archie and Mariam, Dorothy and Abel, Isabella, Joyce, Betsy, Cecilia, Andrew, Thomas, Mary (John) Beardy, Simon Beardy; nieces Lorna, Annette; nephews Glen, Delbert, James, Philip, Brian, Jonas Jr., Frank; in-law Derrick Neil Bell.
