Robert Gabriel Packo

Robert Gabriel Packo, better known as "Robbie" or "Smoothy" was born Wednesday, March 18, 1959 in The Pas, Manitoba to the late Gabriel and Marie Packo.
Robert was united in marriage to Eleanor Ballantyne on October 25, 1985 at St. John's Anglican Church and they were happily married for 17 years until Eleanor's sudden passing.
Robbie worked all his life as a commercial fisherman. He also had his own logging business call R. Packo Logging. He worked for a pipeline company out in Winnipeg until he got sick.
Robbie wanted the best for his only son Clifford. He was so proud of his son's accomplishments of graduating grade 12 in 2015 and recently graduating from the Health Care Aide Program.
Robbie was a resident at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg from 2009 to 2014 before being transferred to St. Paul's Personal Care Home in The Pas where he resided until his passing.
Robbie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the age of 60 years, with his son by his side.
Robbie is survived by his son Clifford Packo; sister Sheila (Jamie) George; brothers Glen Packo, Derek (Linda) Packo; nephews Darren (Cathy) George, Lee George, Justin George, Linden Packo, Rio Packo; nieces Jessica George, Melissa Scott, Kylie Packo; grandchildren Sasha Mercedes, Kalan Chance and Gustin; uncles Albert (Olive) Lambert, Douglas Lambert, Joseph (Clara) Lambert; auntie Florence (Sam) Ettawakapow; sisters-in-law Clara Lambert, Vivian Ballantyne, Grace (Joe) Pelly; brother-in-law Hanson (Sarah) Ballantyne; and many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Robbie was predeceased by his wife Eleanor; father Gabriel Packo; mother Marie Packo; grandparents Robert and Bella Lambert, Albert and Elise Packo; mother-in-law Juliet Ballantyne; father-in-law Barney Ballantyne; uncles Norman Lambert; aunties Rose Ballantyne, Pauline (Sam) Lathlin, Stella (Dick) Buck; and other relatives too numerous to mention.
