Stanley was born to George and Harriet Bighetty on Sunday, March 3, 1946, in Duck Lake, Manitoba.
Most of the years were spent in High Rock with his family and friends, they call home away from home.
Stanley, along with his siblings grew up in humble settings in which he would never forget. As a young man, Stanley found his love for Mother Nature and it’s abundance that gave him the tools and skills to survive off the land.
Stanley lived most of his earthly days at High Rock, Manitoba and also had a camp at Eden Lake in which he’d gather wild food and medicines. Stanley was a natural trapper, hunter, fisherman and medicine gatherer. He would often teach the grandsons what he could.
Stanley enjoyed the company of family and friends. His favorite time was when the hunters who would travel down river for their annual hunting trips. He would greet them with a hot cup of tea and most often than not, a warm meal that would go with his stories of long ago and it never failed to hear good hearty humour coming from Stanley. He gained many wonderful friends, those who knew Stanley will remember him with great respect and fond memories.
Stanley unexpectedly made his journey to the Happy Hunting Ground, May 27, 2019. It is a beautiful reunion in Heaven today as Stan meets the love of his life, Emily today.
