Barbara
Robertson
May 13, 1954 — Sep 24, 2026
Winnipeg formerly of The Pas, Manitoba
On September 24, 2026 Barbara Joy Robertson passed away at age 72. She is survived by her brothers, Brian and Leslie, nieces and nephew, Stacey (David) Colgan, Daniel Robertson (Kathy), Shawna Robertson, Ashley Robertson (Aaron) and Dale Tucker (Adam), great nephews and great nieces Connor Colgan, Cooper Colgan, Dallas Bignell, and Melanie Bignell. Barb was predeceased by her parents Eldon and June.
Barb was born in The Pas on May 13, 1954. Barb attended school in The Pas and after graduation she moved away for university. She spent many childhood summers in Dawson Bay where her Dad was a commercial fisherman. Barb, like many members of her family loved to spend time in Clear Lake. She camped there as a child and then spent many years creating memories at 'the cabin'. Barb's nieces and nephews all spent time at the cabin with Auntie Barb and Grandma Robertson. Campfire sing-along's, beach picnics, and the inevitable trips for ice cream—Clear Lake will always be a special place.
Barb loved to learn. She became a teacher and earned a degree in Home Economics. Years later, Barb earned her master's degree in Business. Being a lifelong learner, Barb returned to studies and became a Chartered Professional Accountant. Barb enjoyed knitting and sewing. She owned a Singer sewing machine store in Kildonan Place in Winnipeg for many years. Kildonan Place was always Barb's favorite mall for shopping, as it held many memories. Barb loved to cook, especially trying new recipes or adapting recipes so that everyone could enjoy. In the spring Barb was part of a cooking group that connected virtually to cook together. Barb spent many hours teaching her nieces and nephews how to bake, cook, and make chocolates. In recent years Barb passed on the skills of making jellies and pickles. Barb passed down recipes of family favorites, most notably her fruit cake and mustard pickles.
If you knew Barb, you knew that Barb loved cats. Stray cats found Barb, and in turn they found the best home. There were many stories about Barb's cats, Oliver and Stanley.
Barb is lovingly remembered by family members and friends who will forever hold treasured memories close to their hearts.
The family extends sincere appreciation to all who have offered support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time.
