Connie (Evans)
Chartrand
Jun 25, 1954 — Jun 27, 2026
Dauphin, Manitoba
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Chartrand on June 27, 2026, at the age of 72. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her family. She shared 36 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Art, building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Connie was best known for her incredible work ethic and determination. As the proud owner and operator of Paperworks Plus for 28 years, she built not only a successful business but countless lasting relationships. She especially treasured her years at the Otineka Mall on Opaskwayak Cree Nation, where she formed many lifelong friendships. Her customers became friends, and her kindness, generosity, and welcoming smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Art; her children, Sean, Jody (Don), and Justin; her stepchildren, Kurt and Kristopher (Tara); her grandchildren, Logan (Kelsey), Chance, Jordan (Brenden), Montana, Jersey, Maddison, Kennedy, Katie, Lukas, and Brady; step-grandchildren, Roksana and Adeena and her cherished great-grandchildren, Atticus, Charlie, Finley, Aubrey, and Austyn, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Connie also held a very special place in her heart for her great-nephews, Lew & Nate. She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy and Susan (Arthur); her nieces, Carla, Brandie, Lana, Crystal, Autumn (Jimmy), Kelsey, and Gennifer; her nephews, Dwayne, Todd, Lee, Tanner, and Kyle; and the many great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members who were blessed to know and love her. Connie also opened her heart and home to many others. She held a special place in her heart for her Blizzard billets, Carl, Erik, Tavis, and Brayden. Even after their time with the team came to an end, she remained in touch with them, and they always knew they would be welcomed back with open arms. To Connie, they were never just billets—they were family. Connie was predeceased by her parents, Ken and Phyllis; her siblings, Barb and Tom; her brother-in-law, Barry; and, most heartbreakingly, her beloved son, Kenny, who passed away in 2023. The loss of Kenny was the greatest sorrow of her life, and those who loved Connie find comfort in knowing they are reunited once again. Beyond her dedication to family and work, Connie loved making memories with those closest to her. She especially enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, often travelling with Art and Jody. Whether it was exploring the city, sharing laughs, or simply spending time together, those trips became some of her most treasured memories. On many occasions, special friends and her granddaughters joined the adventures, making each trip even more meaningful. In 2025 Connie, Art and Lukas relocated to Dauphin where they enjoyed watching Jays games with Justin and many dinners, Mom was an excellent cook. Connie held her membership in The Pas Rotary Club close to her heart. She found great joy in serving her community alongside others who shared her commitment to helping those in need. More than anything, she treasured the friendships she made through Rotary. The kindness, laughter, and support she shared with so many members enriched her life and remained a lasting source of happiness. Connie's life was one of love, dedication, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, deep friendships, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be missed more than words can express, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she has left this world, the impact of her kindness, laughter, and love will endure for generations to come. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she has lost, and that her journey continues in peace. A service celebrating Connie's life will be held on Friday, July 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Hemauer Funeral Home. Following cremation, Connie will be laid to rest with her family in Grandview. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, support, and kindness during this difficult time. She also shared deep and lasting friendships with many special people throughout her life. Connie held a devoted friendship with MJ, who remained a constant presence in her life. She was also deeply grateful for her long-time friends Tom and Marlene Bignell, whose friendship meant so much to her over the years
