Our brother Frederick Clifford Cook AKA "Kruger" was born February 13, 1967, at the St Anthony's Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba. Freddy was the 9th child of 14 born to Leslie and Helen Cook.
Freddy resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he called home for the last years of his life. He fell in love with the city life, he said that Winnipeg was his city. He lived most of his life in The Pas Indian Band and Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
Freddy received his Grade 12 education from MBCI and Business Administration from K. C. C. He was always expressing to his nieces and nephews to get their education. He was an entrepreneur with his log business, his fence post business and had loved helping his people. He enjoyed working with Sam Ross and he was one of Sam's apprentices. Our brother worked odd jobs in his city and he loved to work for the East Indian people in Winnipeg because they were good to him.
Our brother was blessed with three sons, Gerald Chaboyer, Albert Lathlin and Donavin Lathlin (Tawny) and Stepson Wyatt Easter, Granddaughter: Addilynn Lathlin
Our uncle would give his last dollar and give his shirt off his back and give his shoes to give others hope. Our uncle was a very humble person, when a person was down, he would make you laugh. He didn't like people being sad.
He loved sports when he was younger, he played with the Big Eddy Warriors for a short while until he found his true passion of singing. Our brother loved singing Waylon Jennings songs, especially "The Way More Blues" where he sang it on NCI Jam. Our brother enjoyed singing for his sisters, he would phone one of them and sing a song for them. He would tell his sisters and brothers how much he loved them and missed them. He would take them around Winnipeg giving them personal tours of his city, proudly show them what he helped build. He was proud he helped build "Uptown Alley".
Freddy was known for making everyone laugh, he would tell stories from his childhood. He was a proud uncle, he would always have gifts when he came to visit. He always made memories with his nieces and nephews. He always had a good time where ever or whoever he's with.
