Heather was born Sunday, August 1, 1948 in Flin Flon, Manitoba, to John and Mary McLean. She joined older siblings Ian and Linda.

Mom grew up in Flin Flon among family and friends, talking about her childhood frequently. It was while growing up in the great city of Flin Flon that she discovered her passion for hockey.

In 1970, mom moved to The Pas and attended Keewatin Community College. After her graduation, she got her first secretarial job at Western Grocers. While in The Pas, mom met the love of her life, David and in 1972 they married and soon after welcomed their first child David Junior. One year later the family was joined by a daughter Donna. Mom spent the remainder of her life in The Pas raising her family, working odd jobs and volunteering for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Mom's greatest love came in 2007, with the birth of her grandson Logan. From the moment she laid eyes on him she was doting and spoiling. She was so proud to be a grandma to our little man.

Mom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, escorting Logan to his evening and weekend activities, play dates and birthday parties, traveling, concerts, knitting and crocheting.

Mom enjoyed baseball but she was a true hockey fan. Calgary and Winnipeg being her two favorites and rarely missing a televised game.

Mom passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 7, 2021, at her home in The Pas, at the age of 73 years.

Heather is survived by her son David Junior; daughter Donna and grandson Logan. She is also survived by her brother Ian (Laurel) McLean; and sister Linda (Stuart) McFadyen; brother-in-law Jim (Jean) Lawson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was a kind, caring and outgoing lady. Mom will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A service of remembrance will be held for Heather Saturday, June 18, 2022, 11:00 am, at the Westminster United Church, The Pas, Manitoba with Linda Buchanan presiding.  A reception will follow in the west wing of the United Church.
