Sunday, September 6, 2026, Joseph Anthony Maciesza of Winnipeg, MB passed away at the age of 51 years. With heavy hearts, we announce that our son and brother passed peacefully at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after a long illness of Diabetes plus many other diagnoses.

Joe is survived by his mom, Maureen and his only brother Steven and many aunts, uncles and cousins and many dear friends. Joe was predeceased by his Dad Tony.

Joe worked several years at Good Thymes, Pizza Hut and Kelsey School Division for a short time, before his illness got the best of him. He loved his music. He played the Tuba in the Jazz Band and also enjoyed his Bass Guitar. He loved his LEGO, Origami, Ceramics, he was a superb cook and could make almost anything out of something edible.

Joe was a member of Kinsmen and the Royal Canadian Legion #19. He had many friends, young and old from all around the world. He loved people and appreciated and loved his caregivers at St. Paul's Personal Care Home in The Pas and Beacon Hill Lodge in Winnipeg.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, 1:00 pm at Christ Church Anglican, The Pas. Interment of Joe's and his dad Tony's ashes will be held at Lakeside Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held following the interment, at the Christ Church Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers donations to The Pas Health Complex Foundation, Inc., Memorial Fund for St. Paul's Residence would be greatly appreciated by Joseph's family.
