Obituary

Markella was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan to Edward Leonard and Marie Kleber. They moved to The Pas when Markella was in early school. Markella raised all her children in The Pas. She was a stay-at-home mom and went back to school in her later years. She obtained a secretarial certificate at KCC. She then worked for the Town of The Pas for many years as the Kelsey Recreation secretary. She loved her job and was there until her retirement. Markella was mom to many children besides her own, and to a few of her grandchildren who she raised as her own. To this day many consider her mom. Markella moved from her apartment to the high rise and eventually to St. Paul's residence.

Mom loved to knit and crochet, as well as listen to music. She was pretty tech savvy, she loved to do her shopping online and give a little advice to the ladies who weren't sure about ordering online themselves. She loved to sit in front of her TV and relax and would be so happy if a visitor stopped by to see her. Markella also had a love for pets, having many dogs and cats throughout the years.

Everyone who knew Markella will miss her dearly. She was loved and will never be forgotten. She had a long and healthy life, except for the last four years. Rest in peace mom and we will see you again. Love you always.

Markella was predeceased by her parents Edward Leonard and Marie Kleber; children Dennis Richards, Lorraine Marie Fortin (Barry Holland), Cynthia Dorthy Haight (Richards) and Eric Leonard Richards; grandchildren Lisa Marie Richards, Darren Richards (Rachel) and Devin Haight.

Markella was survived by her daughters Judith Ester (Larry) Trudeau, Candice Louise (John) Wiebe, Maureen Louella Matthews (Lloyd Devenny); as well as those few she considered sons and daughters from other mothers. Markella is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great - great grandchildren too numerous to mention.

If we forgot to mention anyone, it was not intentional.
