Ridley Roland
Mercel Constant
Sep 9, 1997 — Jul 3, 2026
Calgary, Alberta
Ridley Roland Mercel passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 2,2026 at the age of 28 years old. Ridley was born on September 9, 1997 to Rhonda Ida Constant and Roland Lavallee Jr at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Ridley was a passionate, loving, caring young man who lived life to the fullest. He always made sure to check on everyone, and ask about family members just to make sure they were okay and doing good. Ridley was very respectful and cared for everyone.
Growing up Ridley was very close with his Grandma Gloria and Grandpa Roland Lavallee Sr. and spent a lot of time with them travelling and doing many family outings. He enjoyed spending time with his dad and uncle, fishing and hanging out. He kept close ties with his late Grandma Ruth's friends Amanda and Dennis Anderson and would frequently stop in for visits at their home or church just a few steps away from his Grandparents house in Umpherville.
In 2007 Ridley and his family moved to Calgary & he often came back home to Opaskwayak Cree Nation for visits. Ridley was his own little Einstein, Whether it was building things from scratch and working on his little projects. He spent countless hours on his projects. When he had nothing else to do, he would dig around and find something else to build. His mom would ask him what he was doing. He would say "Oh, just a little project keeping myself busy!"
Although he had his trials and tribulations, he always managed to get through them. Ridley would always talk with his mom about life and family. Mom always reassured him whenever he was down or just when he wanted to talk about TV shows. He loved his dogs Komodo and Midnight and they would always be by his side. His loyal companions were there to cheer him up whenever he needed solace. His mom would share videos with him of animals just to make him smile and laugh. He was an avid animal lover.
Ridley loved and cherished his Mother, Father and Siblings. He had a special bond with each and every one of them, Especially his sister Tyra.
Ridley will be missed dearly by all who knew and love him. His caring and loving heart will be cherished and remembered.
