It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Adam Buck. Adam, also loving known as Niggz to most people, was called to his eternal resting place on Sunday August 24th, 2025, at the age of 34.
Niggz was born on Monday, March 18, 1991 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in The Pas, Manitoba, to Annie Denechezhe-Buck and late Rick Cook. He was fondly remembered as funny, always smiling, and a kind-hearted soul who always acknowledged everyone he came across.
In his early years, Adam and Dustin lived with their parents, Annie and Rick, at the Ghetto. After a few years the boys were sadly placed into care and moved into various foster homes but were never separated. At the ages of 6 & 7 years old, the boys were welcomed into the home of their uncle and auntie Adam and Jill Cook, Adam stayed with them until the age of 21. However, returning home whenever he needed.
At the age of 16, Adam followed in his brothers’ footsteps as a hard worker in the workforce. Bouncing from job to job often working alongside his brother Dustin. Dustin remembers all the great times working with him at McDonalds. The boys later worked together at Wescana, meeting many people, and even dressing as Mario and Luigi during Halloween. Adam ended up back at McDonalds and became a manager, even moving to Flin Flon for a short while to manage McDonalds there. Adam moved for a while to Thompson too and worked at Family Foods. He returned home and started working at Paskwayak Gas Bar up until his unfortunate passing, where his glowing smile and joyfulness will be fondly remembered and missed by many people.
Adam, much like his father Rick, always made time for friends and family. Adam spent time with all the kids making sure they felt safe and often played with them. Adam would never forget about his family, always checking up on them, seeing if they needed help with anything. Adam had friends, lots of friends, he never cared about their baggage, to him, if you respected him, he would do the same. Adam was always concerned about his siblings Dustin, Sage, Jillie, Suzanne, Margaret and Louisa. Adam always worked, first for himself, then later for his boys, Michael and Adam Jr. Adam often talked about bettering his life, he wanted to go back to school so he can provide more for himself and his boys.
Adam leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved children Michael and Adam Jr.; his brothers and sisters Dustin Buck (Jessy B.), Sage Linklater, Jillie Linklater, Margaret Emily Cook, Louisa Ricky Cook, Suzanne Tamara, Charlese Cook, and Rackesah Ballantyne; mom Annie Denechezhe-Buck; the mother of his children Arla McKay; uncles Adam (Jill) Cook, Brian C. Constant (Elizabeth), Joe Cook, George Cook, Clarence Cook; aunties Cathy Klehn, Caroline Ducharme (Rick), Cathy Cook (Joseph), Joyce Unger (Les); and his nephew and nieces Drake, Phoenix, Hazel, Janessa, Harlon, Odious; Godchildren Peyton, Phoenix and Hazel; cousins; and many family and friends too numerous to mention.
Adam is predeceased by his father Rick Cook; grandparents Louisa Cook and Jacob (Jake) Constant; uncles Henry Cook, Tom Cook, and Gordon Cook; aunties Marie Thomas and Helen Cook; cousins Charley Cook, Brian Dionne and Roland Dionne. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
