Adelaide Freda Lathlin

Adelaide was born in The Pas, Manitoba on Friday, March 23, 1951 to the late Solomon and Ann Goulet. She spent her early years in Cumberland House where she raised her two children Brent and Tina.
Adelaide received her Certificate of Social Work and worked in the social field for many years. She worked with the Provincial Government as a Social Worker and travelled to many northern communities in Saskatchewan. Adelaide enjoyed working with people and made many friends along the way. While working in Cumberland House she was approached by a Circuit Judge who recommended she start a Restorative Justice Program. She organized the first Restorative Justice Sharing and Sentencing Program in Cumberland and continued to work in that field until her passing. She felt a strong connection to the youth she worked with and tried her best to ensure they were successful.
In her early years she enjoyed curling until her legs started bothering her. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos. Even when she wasn't playing the machines, she took pleasure in visiting her friends there. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She liked growing flowers and looking after them in the summer. As education was important to her, she made sure her grandchildren attended school daily by driving them to and from school. She also ensured they had food for their lunches.
Adelaide leaves to mourn her children Brent (Kara) and Tina (Preston); grandchildren Vincent, Tecia, Trinity, Dallas, Thierry, Lynden, Breann, Savannah; one great granddaughter Haisley; brothers and sisters Eva, Virginia (Roy), Myrtle (Steve), Cyril (Donna), Alma, Rudy (Myrna), Lisa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Adelaide will be greatly missed by everyone she met. Her great sense of humor and unforgettable laugh is second to none. She was a loving mother, sister and friend.
