Alzena Lejambe Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alzena Rose Lajambe, born on June 21, 2009 in The Pas Manitoba to Christina and Mike Lajambe.

Alzena will be remembered for her gentle heart, quiet strength, and creative spirit. She had a passion for drawing, writing, and loved expressing herself through art. She spent countless hours filling her notebooks with sketches, poems, and reflections, finding comfort in writing and allowing her imagination to flourish on every page.

A proud young Indigenous woman, Alzena cherished her culture and traditions. Powwow dancing was one of the greatest passions of her life and a part of who she was. She treasured every opportunity to enter the dance circle, where she danced with pride, grace, and respect. The sound of the drum, the beauty of her regalia, and the sense of community she found at powwows brought her immense happiness. Through dance, she honored her ancestors, embraced her identity, and created lasting memories with friends.

Outside of dancing, Alzena enjoyed skateboarding always embracing the adventure that came with it. She had a lifelong love of hockey. Whether she was on the ice playing the game or cheering on her favourite teams, hockey brought her great joy. She also enjoyed participating in the Manitoba Trappers’ Festival, where she looked forward to friendly competition. She especially loved spending time with her sister, Shantel. The two were inseparable, sharing countless laughs, memories, and an unbreakable bond. Their love for one another was evident to everyone who knew them, and the memories they created together will be remembered forever.

Left to cherish her memory is her father, Mike Lajambe (Tisha); her siblings, Broady, Shantel, Michelle and Jayden; her nephews, Beau and Vinny; her paternal grandparents, Jeanne and Vernon; her aunts, Shirley, Darlene(Dave),Joyce, Patti(Jim), Kelly(Brian); her uncles, Norman, George, Eugene; along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Alzena was predeceased by her beloved mother, Christina; her maternal grandparents, Agnus and Harry; her Auntie Rosalie; her Uncle Riley; and her cousin Randy.

Although Alzena’s time with us was far too short, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, resilience, and cultural pride. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and beautiful smile will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered in the songs of the drum, within the dance circle, through every page of a well-loved notebook, at the hockey rink, and in the countless lives she touched with her compassion and love.
