It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of our loved one Archie Bernard Nasikapow, aka “Bunker”, on Tuesday, June 25, 2025 at Moose Lake Nursing Station, at the age of 19 years old.
Archie was born to Angeline “Mia” Nasikapow and Samuel Matthew Ettawakapow, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at The Pas, Manitoba, growing up with four siblings. Throughout Archie’s childhood he spent a majority of his life at Trader’s Lake and also spent time in Winnipeg with his mom and kokum, Sylvia Buck.
Our beloved Archie Nasikapow was a bright light in our lives, full of laughter, energy and love. An athletic and spirited young man, Archie had a passion for sports, especially basketball, soccer and volleyball. He proudly played for the Mosakahiken Grizzlies, forming strong bonds with his teammates and coach.
Archie never let his epilepsy define him. His strength and determination were clear in the way he lived – always active, always present and always caring. Whether he was facetiming his brothers Gabriel and Jeremiah, checking in on his “mom and pops”, Shelly and Jacob, or sharing coffee with his grandpa Sam. Archie’s love for family was at the center of his life. He shared a special bond with his sister Kristen and loved organizing games like soccer and basketball for his nieces and nephews.
He was the clumsy one of the bunch, often making us laugh and his favourite saying, “I know” still echoes fondly in our hearts. Archie loved teasing his friends and cousins, especially Randy, and he never missed a chance to joke around with the “Trader’s Lake Chicks”. His best friends Sharon, Sonja, Christopher, St. Pierre, Randy, Drake, Dallas and Fredie were always by his side, sharing his adventures and dreams.
Archie was a proud dirt bike rider, a loyal fan of the Winnipeg Jets, the Lakers, Humboldt Broncos and WWE and he never passed up a chance to show off or teach someone new. He loved his kokum Sylvia dearly and was always checking up on her. One of his most cherished memories was attending his first NHL game in 2018 with Sharon, a moment he never stopped talking about.
Archie dreamed of finishing school and celebrating his graduation with a big party at “mom’s house.” He was full of hope and plans for the future and though his time with us was far too short, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and unwavering spirit.
We will miss him dearly, his teasing, his kindness, his goofy clumsiness and his boundless love. Rest easy, Archie Bunger. We’ll celebrate you always.
