Arthur Storie

After a lengthy battle with numerous chronic illnesses, Arthur passed away on January 18, 2023 at the age of 78 years.

Arthur was born on May 14, 1944 to Nelson and Beatrice Storie in Winnipeg, MB. He was the first of 5 children and often shared mischievous tales of his childhood. By working in the family’s garage, he became skilled in engine repair and could often be found fixing anything with a motor. 

In 1966 Arthur was united in marriage to Janice and they shared 50 years together prior to her passing in 2017. Residing in Stonewall they began their family and were blessed with 3 children, Alan, Tania, and Dean. Dad was a volunteer fireman, Kinsmen member and an avid bowler. He also earned his pilot’s license and was very proud of this. 

Art moved his family to The Pas in 1977 and began working as a heavy duty mechanic/truck driver. This led him to becoming an owner/operator and travelling across Canada and the US. He then retired and spent time tinkering in his garage. 

Like his father, Art loved fishing and spent many hours on the banks of the river. 

Dad is survived by his children, Alan (JoAnn), Tania (Tony), and Dean; his grandchildren, Nico, Gianna, Lanaya (Caleb and Elio); his Storie siblings and their families, Don, Marnie, Jo Anne, and William; as well as his sisters-in-law and their families.

Following dad’s wishes, he has been cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.
