Brian was born December 14, 1948 in Grandview Manitoba. Brian was the youngest of four kids to Pearl and Gordon Doak.
Brian moved to Snow Lake when he was 12 years old where he fell in love with the small town.
Brian met the love of his life Bonnie when he was 18. They dated for five years then got married on August 14, 1971. Brian was a dedicated husband, Bonnie and Brian were truly the best of friends.
Brian and Bonnie were blessed with two children, Sheila and Warren. He was the most loving and supportive dad. Brian was always involved in all his kids activities and he was adored by all his children's friends.
Brian started working for the Town of Snow Lake in 1974. He was well known as the town's “Loader Man” but really he was a jack of all trades. Brian took great pride in his job and had an impeccable work ethic, he loved Snow Lake and loved looking after it. Brian had many fond memories of his employment and loved his coworkers. Brian retired in 2003 with 29 years of service.
Brian's new job of choice became being a devoted grandpa, and all around family man. He spent hours cheering for their sports teams, playing games, cards and dancing.
Brian had many hobbies, there wasn’t much that he couldn’t do. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, curling, and golf throughout the years. In his later years, Brian couldn’t wait to meet the “old guys” for their daily golf game and heckling. Brian’s golf buddies called him “Spanky”. He valued each of his golf friends, especially his brother Bob and golf was one of the highlights of his day.
Brian was a card shark. He loved nothing more than a good game of cards and teasing his opponents. Brian had a way of getting a rise out of anyone. Brian and Bonnie enjoyed many hours playing crib together.
Brian took great joy in helping all his friends and family with anything that they needed. He was one of the kindest and happiest people you’d ever meet. You’d never see Brian without a big smile on his face while giving you a wave.
Brian leaves to mourn his passing: his wife Bonnie of 52 years, his daughter Sheila (Alex), son Warren (Jennifer), grandchildren Justin, Lauren, Bo and Lily, great grandkids Brielle and Maverick, brothers Wayne (Gertie) and Bob (Ila), brother in law Andy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
