Charles was born Thursday, March 16, 1972, in The Pas, Manitoba to Mary and Stephen Head. He was a brother to Cynthia, Karen, Serena and Susan.
Charles received his education at Big Eddy Day School, Opasquia School to grade 6, Iskonekun School to grade 9 and Crocus Plains in Brandon, Manitoba to grade 10 and upgraded his education at Kelsey Adult Learning Centre, in The Pas.
Charles and Lowein “Lulu” McGillivary were united in marriage on October 29, 2016.
Charles worked at various jobs throughout his life. He worked at Fas Gas in Saskatoon, as a gas jockey and cashier and took care of 16 pumps working mostly nightshifts. He was also employed as a bouncer at the Gateway Hotel and the New Avenue Hotel.
Up until he became ill, he was fortunate to have several chances to work for ODC – Otineka Development Corporation as a security officer, then a custodian. He also worked at the recycling plant.
Charles enjoyed working as a janitor and security and also enjoyed working on his van, swimming and watching TV shows such as Ice Road Truckers, Highway Thru Hell, Heavy Rescue 401 and Family Feud. He also loved playing hockey and watching his Chicago Blackhawks.
Charles fought a courageous battle with Leukemia and Melanoma Cancer and passed away peacefully with family by his side, Sunday, February 2, 2020, at his home on Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Manitoba, at the age of 47 years.
Charles is survived by his wife Lowein; son Seth; stepchildren Marguerite, Soda, Kaycee, Matthew; mother Mary Head; sisters Karen, Serena (Glen), Susan; pets Max, the dog, and Mr. Roach, the cat; and many family and friends too numerous to mention.
Charles was predeceased by his father Stephen Head; sister Cynthia Scott (nee Head); nephews Gerrod Head, Ethan and Wyatt Flett, Dylan McGillivary; grandparents Samuel and Clara Bignell, Albert and Mary Ann Head; father-in-law Roderick McGillivary; mother-in-law Margaret McGillivary; brothers-in-law Scott McGillivary, Bradley McGillivary; and many relative and friends too numerous to mention.
