Claire Bertholet

Claire Robert Joseph Bertholet, 78 longtime resident of The Pas Manitoba passed away peacefully February 10, 2025 at St. Anthonys hospital, The Pas Manitoba with his loving family at his side.

Claire was born November 23rd,1946 to Marc and Edith Bertholet in Virden, Manitoba.

On September 2nd, 1967, Claire married Lois Anne Clarke in Virden, Manitoba, wife of 57 years. They had 2 boys, Sean Claude on May 10, 1968, and Jody Allan Trevor on May 6, 1969.

Claire became a Welder at an early age. He travelled all over Canada for employment in construction and pipelining. In 1977 he moved his family to The Pas to become a Welding instructor at Keewatin Community College. While at KCC, Claire was an active member of MGEU, where he held several positions throughout the years. Claire retired from the college in 2004.

He will be remembered by many as a player, coach, supporter and builder in curling, fastball and hockey. He always looked forward to his annual fishing trip with his friends at Webb Lake.

Claire is survived by his loving wife Lois, sons, Sean (Camille) and Jody (jill). Grandchildren Marcus, Cassidy, Alyssa, and Chase. Claire had 2 Great grandchildren, Mia and Jackson, sister Yvonne. Claire is pre—deceased by his parents Edith and Marc Bertholet, Sister-in-law, Shirley, brother Andy, brothers in law; Gilbert, Sandy, Leonard, and Morris.

Though we mourn his passing, we take comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the impact he had on those around him. Rest in peace Claire, your light will continue to shine forever.

In keeping with family wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held.
