We sadly announce the passing of Clayton Edward Saunders, on March 27, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 52 years old.
Uncle Clayton was a very humorous person, he loved his nieces and nephews very much. Once he walked through the door he would make the whole room laugh. Our Uncle Chapootch will be very missed from me and girly beb and all the bbs, love you. Until we meet again, rest in peace my crazy uncle. He was loved by many, he made friends wherever he went. He loved all his kids and grandkids.
Clayton is survived by his partner Cynthia; daughters Cheyenne (Marc), Roberta, Raylene; twins Genesta and Dawson; son Stephen; grandkids Alyssa, Atlas, Aleah, Zairah, Alania; brother Quentin; sisters Lynda, Alana, Mary, Heather; auntie Eva; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Clayton was predeceased by his father Peter Thorassie; mother Mary Boles; grandparents William and Caroline Thorassie; uncles Joe and Johnny Thorassie; sisters Carolyn Sinclair, Miranda Beardy; cousins Lenard and Daniel Thorassie.
We will always remember you, there will never be another to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you.
We will forever remember your smiles, laughter, and hugs. We will dearly miss you. So good with words, encouragement, and inspirations.
Special thanks to Theresa Cawson of Winnipeg, MB, for keeping the sacred fire. Ron Normand, Clayton’s friend of 40 years that put the sacred fire on. Rebecca Goulet (friend) for also arranging the sacred fire and for doing the fundraiser. Cynthia Broadfoot (staff-support worker) friend. 190 Desraili, Frank Parks (director),
Mike Caldar (Elder) for holding ceremony.
You walked through storms we couldn't see,
Carried weight too heavy to believe.
A smile that tried to hide the night,
A heart that still reached out for light.
We loved you in the days you stayed,
In laughter shared, in games we played.
And though the road became too steep,
You're not just gone - you're ours to keep.
In every story left behind,
In every memory we find,
You live in more than just the past -
A love we hope will always last.
Rest easy now, no more to fight,
No endless dark, no sleepless night.
If love could have kept you here still,
You would be with us against your will.
But love remains, it always will.
