They started a family and lived in Moose Lake. The fall of 1979, Dad relocated his family to Crossing Bay. Dad had many roles in his life; in 1974 he was the Chief of Moose Lake, then he was a Band Councillor. He then went on to being an Assistant Manager for the Moose Lake Loggers, also taking on the roles of a cattle rancher, farmer and gardener. His main occupation was his passion of Commercial Fisherman of 60 years. Prior to his passing he was involved in the contribution to the family enhancement namely in parenting. First and foremost he was a "Knowledge Keeper"; he was a land base mentor to his family and community. In his last few years of his life he was a Spiritual Leader and Elder, a role he took with great pride and honor.
