Delbert Lavallee Obituary

The family of Delbert Louis Lavallee are saddened to announce his sudden passing on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the age of 70 years. Delbert was born in The Pas on Thursday, September 22, 1955, to Helen and Edouard Lavallee.

Delbert spent most of his life in The Pas other than a couple years in Whitecourt, Alberta and several years in Winnipeg. Throughout the years he had many different jobs, but he often talked about those he got the most enjoyment from. One was tile flooring the hallways at Joe A. Ross School on Opaskwayak Cree Nation. Delbert had many job skills; floor tiling, cooking, plumbing, drywalling, trapping and commercial fishing with his Uncle Gabe.

Delbert met his late Wife, Ruby Eleanor Cook in the summer of ’82. Lori was 6 months old. He fell madly in love with the both of them that he did everything he possibly could to make them happy.

Delbert fit right in with the Cook Family and all the surrounding residents of Riverside Drive where they lived and gave life to Albert, Felicia and Skye Lynn. There is where they made the best of many memories as a family.

Delbert loved his kids so much that when he was introduced to his Niece’s, Nephew’s and the neighborhood children, he treated them all like his own. This is where he became “Mr. Mom”. Everyone loved his jokes, his cooking and his stories.

Delbert lived a long full life. He can only be described as wonderful person, who was kind and caring. Delbert will be missed by many, especially his step-daughter Lori (Andrea), his only son Albert, his daughter Felicia (Randolph) and his baby girl Skye-Lynn.

Delbert was also a grandfather to grandchildren Dionne, Raenaeia, Christiano, Ruby, Randy, Reiley, Renee, Riel, Rory, Jason, Justice, Terry Jr. and Jada.

He was blessed to become a great grandfather to great grandchildren Athenes, McKenzie and McKinley.

Siblings Sonny Lavallee, Louise Dewar, Lionel Lavallee; In laws Sandra Chaboyer, Sarah Jane Cook, Mary Cook (Isaac), Linda-Jean Cook (Elaine), Madeline Cook, Irene Cook, Freddy Cook and Daniel Cook, Ken Lathlin.

Delbert was predeceased by wife Ruby Cook-Lavallee; parents Edouard and Helen Lavallee; grandchild Jeremy Dustin Constant-Lavallee; siblings Teresa Lavallee,  Annette Lavallee, Jackie Lavallee; In laws Leslie and Helen “Kichekan” Cook, Lester Cook, David “Nigs” Cook, David “Beam” Cook, Veronica Lathlin, Delia Cook, Wilma Cook; nephews Elvis Cook, William Cook, David “Lil” Cook. *Anyone forgotten, please know that it was not intentional*
