Dwayne Thomas Alfred Brightnose was born on June 4, 1964 in The Pas, Manitoba to his loving parents John Brightnose and Donna Brightnose (nee Fenner). Dwayne had 8 siblings and was the 3rd oldest along with his twin Elaine.
Dwayne grew up in Cormorant, MB and loved to trap and hunt. He stayed out in the trap line with his family for two years and learnt his survival skills along with his siblings. Dwayne had attended school up to grade 9 then moved on to living life within the community of Cormorant.
Dwayne met the love of his life Brenda on October 7, 1987 this is when he moved to The Pas to live with Brenda and the girls. He started working with the mall as the Apache Security for a about a year and they shut down and he moved on to the Kikiwak Inn and worked there for 25 years and retired in January 2025. This is when he knew he was unable to work any further and decided he needed to be home with his partner.
Dwayne is survived by his wife Brenda Brightnose (nee McGillivary) and his daughters Samantha (Ron) Fidler & Tracey Brightnose (Chris Andrews), His beloved grandchildren. Brendan, Payton, George Jr Moosetail, Ron Jr, Cody, Tucker Fidler, Tayden, Talia, Talyssa Andrews. His Brothers Ron (Margaret) Brightnose, Thomas Brightnose, John (Angela) Brightnose Jr; his Sisters Sharon Myers (nee Brightnose), Elaine (Linda) Brightnose, Wendy (Mike) Flett, Debbie (Percy) Brightnose and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, in-laws, cousins, and friends.
Dwayne was predeceased by his father John Brightnose Sr, his mother Donna Brightnose nee (Fenner); brother Edward Brightnose; grandmother Sadie; grandfather Thomas Fenner; daughter Jacqueline McGillivary; nephew Michael Dale Flett: aunts Dora Myers, Elizabeth Fenner; uncles Edward Constant, David Fenner, and cousin Edward Constant Jr. If we forgot anyone, it was not intentional.
