Elma Blanche Campbell (nee Keeler/Lagacé) was born on Saturday, April 15, 1944 to Mary Keeler (nee Chadwick) and Otto Keeler in Prince George, BC.
Elma lived most of her life in The Pas with the exception of briefly living in Roblin, Lynn Lake, Shebandowan, Ontario, Winnipeg, Nipawin and Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
Elma received her education in The Pas and worked at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home until her retirement. Elma worked hard to ensure the patients she worked with were comfortable. She made many friends while working at the care home and had a difficult time with her retirement, so she went back to work for several more years.
Elma’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren and she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren during their visits and sleepovers.
Elma was a terrific cook and would spend a lot of time doing her canning of vegetables etc. She had many hobbies including quilting, beadwork, Bingo and on occasion, enjoyed a visit to the casino. Elma spent countless hours in her yard tending to her flower beds and shrubs. She truly had a green thumb. She also enjoyed the outdoors and visiting and having coffee with family and friends in her yard.
Elma passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Hudson Bay Health Care Facility, Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, at the age of 79 years.
The family would like to thank the staff for the great care given to mom during her final days.
Elma is survived by her children Lyle Zorn (Sharon Campbell), Dean (Janet) Zorn and their children Christopher, Dustin, Ashton, Dwayne and Leroy, Kelly Zorn, Kevin Michell; sister Rita (Garry) Rollings; brother Edward Perry Lagacé; nieces Lana, Melissa; nephew Joe Rollings; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; her four legged friend “Baby Girl”; as well as many relatives too numerous to mention.
Elma was predeceased by her husband Lance Campbell; partner Richard Golden; son Brian Zorn; mother Mary Lagacé (nee Chadwick); father Otto Keeler; stepfather Joe Lagacé; grandparents Isabelle Chadwick (nee Young) and Johannes Chadwick; aunties Helena (Bob) Beaudet, Antonia (Ed) Brommeland; Margaret (John) Jaffray; Rachel (Ernie) Draegen; Florence (Robert) Napier; and many relatives too numerous to mention. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
