Gene’s family, with great sadness, announces his passing from a heart attack at Clearwater Lake, The Pas, Manitoba – a place that he loved.
Gene was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and friend. His was a life well lived. He loved and did so very many things – cooking, mechanics, nature, art, the north, making soapstone sculptures and snow sculptures. He was a teacher, counsellor, machinist, millwright and so much more.
Gene loved life. He loved mechanical things and understood them at a deep level. He loved his new Subaru. But most of all, always first in his life, was his family Bev, Sara, Tim and Rio.
Gene’s family would like to sincerely thank all those who tried to save his life on the afternoon of August 18th, at Clearwater Lake and also those doctors and nurses at St. Anthony’s Hospital Emergency Department. We are so grateful for your care and concern.
A longer obituary will follow for Gene. Due to the health situation in the world, a celebration of Gene’s life will be held at a later date.
