Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Evelyn Hannah Andrews (nee Cook) was born Tuesday, September 15, 1942, in Big Eddy Opaskwayak MB to her loving parents Virginia and Fred Cook. Evelyn was the third oldest of 10 siblings.
Evelyn passed away peacefully with family by her side, Wednesday, March 18, 1942, at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home, The Pas, MB, at the age of 83 years.
She survived by her children Natalie (George) Andrews, Sylvia (Scott) Andrews, and Brian Andrews; Siblings Isaac Cook, Maryjane Constant, Norman Cook.
Evelyn was born in Big Eddy Opaskwayak, she moved to British Columba when Natalie was born and made a beautiful family life out there with her late husband Joe Andrews.
Evelyn worked the camp life as a cook and travelled around in British Columbia, Whitehorse Yukon and Hot Springs United States. Evelyn worked in cook’s receiving home. Evelyn also worked the Nevada booth in the Otineka Mall.
Evelyn enjoyed hosting bingos at her house, you would see her playing bingo with her pals every week. She also loved to bake, you would see her buy those big crates of ripe banana’s at the grub box, she made the best banana bread.
Evelyn was a ACW member she would always go to church on Sunday’s, Weddings, Easter and Christmas. Evelyn’s favorite was Easter holiday, she always had Easter dinner at her house and would invite her family and friends for a nice warm supper.
Those left to cherish her beautiful memory are Meagan and Angelina her pretty girls.
Grandchildren Ashley (Gordon) Niquanicappo, Christopher (Tracey) Andrews, Joey Young, Meagan Bignell, Julie (Todd) Andrews, Chelsea (Tyler) Andrews, Brianna (Justin) Andrews, Raven Constant.
Great grandchildren Connor Andrews, Pavel Personius, Jayden Andrews Jarome Dick, Miley Andrews, Angelina Bignell, Aubrey Vinet, Dylan Sinclair, Tayden Andrews, Audrina Mayer, Natalina Mayer, Levi Vinet, Raiden Sinclair, Nootin Andrews, Braden Sinclair, Taila Andrews, Talyssa Andrews. Emmett, Avery, Liam, Jaycee, Logan, Camerion, Shavon, Drayco, Preston and Shane.
Nieces Evelyn (Charlie) Lathlin, Angelia (Ken) Crane, Virginia (Joe) McGillivary, Lisa (Terry) McCorrister, Debbie (Fred) Sinclair.
Nephews, Howard Constant, Eugene Constant Michael (Carleen) Constant. And many more too numerous to name.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Virginia and Fred Cook; sisters Margaret (Adam) Constant Josephine (Solomon Constant, Myra (Frank) McKenzie Sarah Cook; brothers Simeon Cook, Russel Cook, Brian Cook. Two died in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160 – 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E OV9, would be appreciated by Evelyn’s family.
