It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden loss of our loved one Florence, Friday January 3, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in The Pas at the age of 73 years old.
Florence was born to Robert and Bella Lambert, Saturday January 26, 1946 at The Pas Manitoba, growing up with 13 siblings. Throughout her childhood, Florence lived in Pine Bluff and then moved to Moose Lake with her family. In her childhood days, Florence lived in Pine Bluff with her parents, brothers and sisters. Then she moved to Moose Lake where she met the love of her life Samuel.
Florence was united in marriage to Sam Ettawakapow Thursday, December 26, 1963 and they recently celebrated their 56th anniversary. They were blessed with 11 children, 22 grandchildren, 36 great grand-children and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Florence always had a smile for everyone, she enjoyed joking around with everyone around her. She was very humble and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she saw a person in need. She enjoyed camping at North Arm Summer Camp, fundraising for activities there and participating in tootsie contest, attending hymn sings, cooking, berry picking, visiting with family and friends. Her precious time was spending it with their grandchildren and great grandchildren, she gave all her grandchildren and chapans nicknames. She also never missed her regular tv shows on APTN.
Florence was always glad when her brothers and sisters stopped by to visit her, especially her regular visitors. Her brother Joe stopped in daily to check on his big sister.
Florence always looked forward to Christmas, and the annual Christmas light decorating contest that was held in memory of her son Norman Ettawakapow.
Florence spent many years volunteering for Funeral Funds and Treaty Santa Claus. Due to her illness, she was not able to continue.
One of her greatest joys, was that her great grandchild Tradis shared the same birthday as her.
Florence was also very proud of the fact she had two namesakes, Florence Pauline Patchenose and Flossy Ettawakapow.
Florence was always acknowledged as “mom” from Hazel McNabb, Maryann Grey and Garry Settee.
Her faith was strong, and we feel at ease knowing she went home to be with the Lord. She leaves for us cherished memories.
Florence is survived by her husband Samuel; daughters Isabelle (JR) Ettawakapow, Florence (John) Patchenose, Shirley Bignell, Darlene McKay; sons Leonard Ettawakapow, Sam Jr. Ettawakapow, Alfred (Dora) Ettawakapow, Brian Bignell; daughters-in-law Eva Ettawakapow, Albertine Sinclair, Colleen Lambert; son-in-law Jerry Young; brothers Joe (Clara) Lambert, Douglas Lambert, Nelson Menow; brothers-in-law Raymond Tobacco, James (Susan) Ettawakapow; sisters-in-law Virginia Grey, Mary Ann (Roderick) Bignell, Olive Lambert, Sylvia Lambert; Godchildren Sandra Lambert, Shirley Ducharme, Garfield McNabb, Tanya Buck, Desarae Lambert, Daniel Fosseneuve; special friends too numerous to mention.
