Gerald Kenneth Caribou, “Jerry” was born Friday, August 12, 1966, in The Pas, MB to Marie and George Caribou.
Gerald grew up and lived his entire life in the north. He worked at various jobs, including commercial fishing, Keewatin Railway Company, and as a laborer at the Northern Store in Pukatawagan.
Gerald loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, picking berries, and spent many hours in the bush collecting traditional medicines. One of his favorite hobbies was collecting rocks to carve, making numerous turtles, bears and loons over the years, just to name a few.
Gerald loved visiting with family and friends and storytelling. He enjoyed spending countless hours with family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Gerald passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 27, 2025 in Pukatawagan, MB at the age of 58 years.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Martina; children, Jerry, Patrick “Tony”, Jacinda, Chelsie, Lorie, Trinity; grandchildren, Elektra, Zachary, Little Jake; brothers, Elias Caribou and family, Ernest (Juliette) Caribou and family; Alphonse Caribou and his son Alphonse Jr; sisters, Anne (Leonard) Caribou and family, Louisa Caribou and family; cousins, James Caribou, Robert Caribou, Leo Caribou, Judy Caribou, Roy Daniels, Doreen Daniels, Mary Daniels, Andy Daniels, Lloyd Daniel; and many more, too numerous to mention; best friends, Brutus Colomb, Mike Dumas, Michael Whie, Hanson Dumas, Randy Dumas, just to name a few, he had many more close friends, too numerous to mention.
Gerald was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Caribou; parents George and Marie Caribou; brother, Fredrick Caribou; sister, Lorelei Caribou; auntie, Lucille Caribou, and many other cherished family members, too numerous to mention. If we missed anyone it was not intentional.
