Don’t Cry For Me
Don’t cry for me I will be okay
Heaven is my home now and this is where I’ll stay.
Don’t cry for me I’m where I belong
I want you to be happy and try to stay strong.
Don’t cry for me it was just my time
But I will see you someday on the other side.
Don’t cry for me I am not alone
The angels are with me to welcome me home.
Don’t cry for me for I have no fear
All my pain is gone and Jesus took my tears.
Don’t cry for me this is not the end
I’ll be waiting her for you when we meet again.
Love Dad.
Dad took his last breath at 8:44pm Tuesday, August 5, 2025 and joined our beautiful mom who passed away September 10, 2024, and our younger brother Harvey Jr. who passed away August 3, 2011.
Dad was a logger and a fisherman and a jack of many trades. He sure loved hunting especially fishing, he was always willing to help out when asked. Dad and mom loved to have cookouts in their backyard, fried fish or duck soup. Dad was such a busy body, mom used to joke with him that he would be up at the crack of dawn ready to cut the grass. He loved to go camping, he would go out hunting with his son Mike, or he would go out and get wood with his sons Warner or Fred. Our dad was such a humble and caring soul.
He fought long and as hard as he could suffering from an aneurysm and stroke on July 30, 2024. He also battled vascular dementia and many other health issues. He was ready to go home, he would talk about our mom, our brother Harvey Jr, and Granny Benson. Dad will be greatly missed, he was such a gentle soul. He was the best dad there was, with his many teachings and love he shared to those who crossed his path. Dad had the best sense of humor, he loved to play dice and cards (crib) with his cup of coffee and a smoke. He loved puttering around and always fixing something around the house.
Thank you Dad for your love and teachings, you will always be in our hearts. Your work on earth is done Dad.
Dad was born in Winnipegosis, June 5, 1948. He was 77 Years old, his parents were Fred and Agnes Sanderson. Dad was the oldest of his 12 siblings, and was raised by Granny Helen Benson. Dad married our beautiful mom and his soul mate, February 12, 1977, and were married 47 years.
Dad was always willing to help out whoever asked or he offered to help, if you needed a hunting or fishing partner dad would be there. Dad loved to cook, he always had to be doing something. He loved his boat ride, he could no longer fish even though dad didn’t know how to swim that didn’t stop him. How greatly he will be missed!
Dad and mom, when you both left this world you took a huge part of our hearts with you. A promise fulfilled, thank you Dad for your never ending love and your legacy, your work on earth is done. We love you so much, rest in paradise. Till we meet again.
