On January 11, 2021, our family lost a beautiful soul in our family matriarch, Helen Herman. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side singing “Happy Birthday”.
Helen was born in Swan River, Manitoba on January 16th, 1931. She spent her childhood traveling around while her father worked for the railroad.
Helen married the love of her life, Otto Herman, April 19th, 1969. They combined their families and ended up with 8 beautiful daughters. They quickly added to their family in 1971 with the birth of their only son Garry.
Helen was a kind, loving, warm-hearted, and hard-working woman. She always had a smile and a kind word for anyone she talked to. Her smile was one that will never be forgotten. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was most proud of her family and enjoyed having family around as much as possible. And with a family this big, she often got her wish. Over the years, Helen has enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, travelling with her loving husband Otto, camping, fishing, watching countless hockey games over the years and just spending time with her loved ones.
She was predeceased by her parents, her mother in law, 4 brothers, 1 sister, a great grandson and a great granddaughter.
She is survived by her loving husband Otto, their children Carol (Art) Gray, Eileen (Bob) Parker, Violet (Jim) Profit, Patti Mitchell, Charlotte (Myles) Scott, Paula (Larry) Booth, Dianne (Tom) Douglas, Tracey (Ross) Rolling and Garry (Lavonne) Herman, many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as her brother Roy Heatherington.
Due to Covid restrictions, people attending will be asked to show their vaccination card.
