It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our grandpa, uncle, brother and friend. Herman Buck passed away peacefully at 8:23 pm Wednesday, February 19th at his home at the Rod McGillivary Memorial Care Home with his friends and care workers and family beside him. Herman passed from his battle with cancer that he was recently diagnosed with. He was 75 years of age.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his Godchildren Monica (Dana) Campbell, Daphne Nasekapow, Kerry (Phil) Nasekapow and Dwayne (wife) Nasekapow. Nephews Alvin (Teena) Buck and family, Phillip Buck and family, Columbus (Hilda) Nasekapow and family. He leaves behind many nieces and extended family to numerous to mention.
He was predeceased by his mom Jean Buck; sister Irene Nasekapow; nephews Freddy Nasekapow, John Kiplan Nasekapow, Lucien Nasekapow; brothers Kiplan (Bellah) Cowley, Douglas “Hounddog” Buck. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
Herman worked at Lamb Store for many years, working on the barge Skippy L, and labor duties. Also worked as security guard for Rod Martin School which he loved and was proud to retire from. He has obtained many certificates in most of his volunteer work in and around the community of Moose Lake.
He especially liked to sing hymn songs and was extensively involved in the church with all his close friends and families in time of need. He was a very simple humble man that had no desire for money or material things and he would go out of his way to help others.
