James Demchynski Obituary

Jim was born in Canora, SK on August 21, 1944.

While traveling for work Jim met and fell in Love with Claudia. They married on July 27th, 1963.

Over the years they moved around to several locations due to his job, choosing to finally settle down in The Pas, MB in 1969.

Jim was always known for having a strong work ethic and enjoyed working for himself which allowed him to teach his children some of skills they could use later in life. Some of these skills included carpentry, operating heavy equipment and iron work as Jim was known for his expertise in welding.

Jim had a love of many things, he enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and working on his yard. Road trips and many nights listening to fiddle music while everyone danced in the kitchen. Jim also spent many hours playing guitar and had a dream of going gold prospecting one day. He enjoyed having company, playing a game of dice and making small bets of $1.

Jim always made sure you felt included even if you were meeting for the first time.

In the 1980's Jim and Claudia opened their hearts and home fostering over 100 children who looked up to them, and knew they were loved.

It is with sadness we say our final goodbye to our dad;

Grandpa (papa), Great-Grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

Jim will always be loved and remembered by son Darryl (Pam) children Alyssa (Grant), and Bryton great grandchildren Jayce, Amila, Emryn, Braya and Karliah; son Eddy (Shannon) children Everett (Erika) Jarett (Amy), Quentin, Hannah (Joel) great grandchildren Ethen and Maeve. son Donald and grandson Sabastien; granddaughter Cheyanne (Justin) and great grandchildren Kevin, Connor, Reed and Liann.

Danny (Priscilla), Virginia, Jordan, and Devon; brother Metro; and sister Ann-Marie.

Jim is predeceased by his wife Claudia; daughter Sherry; infant son Lawrence; as well as siblings and in-laws.

In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation will take place and no formal funeral service will be held.

A private family interment will take place at a later date in Eriksdale, Manitoba beside his wife and daughter.
