Joseph Ovide Dumas

Joseph Ovide Dumas was born on Monday, November 17, 1952 in The Pas, Manitoba to Catherine and Adolph Dumas.  Joseph passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 72 years.

             Joseph lived and grew up in Pukatawagan, Manitoba with family and friends.  He moved away and also lived in numerous places before settling in Morley, Alberta for the next 30 years, close to the mountains with his common law wife, Jean Hunter and step grandchildren.

Joseph was active in exercising and maintaining a healthy life style and maintained a long period of sobriety and involved in Alcoholics Anonymous.  Joseph was also very involved with his faith and God.  He would attend lac St. Anne on a yearly basis to attend the pilgrimage and also meet friends and attend family gatherings.

Joseph will be dearly missed from family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his common law wife Jean Hunter; step grandchildren; son Mason Bruneau of Hay River, NWT; nieces and nephews from Pukatawagan, Split Lake, Cormorant; grandchildren from Lynn Lake and Pukatawagan; and many family too numerous to mention.

Joseph was predeceased by his mother Catherine Dumas (nee Bighetty); father Adolph Dumas; daughter Daniella Daniels; son Lanny Daniels; brother Lawrence Dumas; sisters Marie Beardy, Jean Ducharme, Margaret Bighetty; aunties, uncles and many relatives too numerous to mention
