With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joy Bear, a soul whose love, kindness and compassion touched every life she encountered. Joyce was known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, unwavering generosity, courage beyond measure and unconditional love.
The name Joy means happiness, delight, and great pleasure. Our Joy truly embodied all these qualities. Joyce had a rare gift of having the ability to make everyone feel valued, heard, seen and deeply loved. Joyce lived a life truly rooted in empathy. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a listening ear, or share a comforting word.
Joyce’s love knew no boundaries and her presence brought light to even the darkest days. In times of hardship, Joyce stood as a pillar of strength and understanding. Joyce taught us that love is not just a feeling, but a daily choice. A choice she made every day with grace, consistency, patience, and compassion.
Throughout her life, Joyce faced many health challenges, but she met each day with gratitude, courage and an unshakable faith and spirit. Joyce walked in steadfast faith, always finding strength, guidance, and joy in God’s word. Her life was a living testimony to the power of grace, the beauty of humility and the peace that comes from trusting in the Lord. Even through her most challenging times, her deep belief in God never wavered. Because of her faith, Joyce truly had the spirit of a warrior.
Joyce’s home was a place of welcome, where all who entered, felt the presence of God’s Love. She often welcomed visitors with prepared meals, Bannock, or delicious baked goods.
Though our hearts ache with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Joyce’s legacy of love will continue to inspire and guide us. We rejoice in the blessed assurance that she now rests in the eternal presence of her Savior, free from pain and sorrow. We take comfort in the promise that we will one day be reunited in Heaven.
Her memory will forever be a beacon of love, faith and hope, reminding us to live with the same grace and compassion she so effortlessly embodied. Joyce’s legacy is one of courage, gratitude, compassion, generosity and unconditional love.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband Leon; children Tesa and Tonia; grandchildren Tia, Travis, Tawny, Ty, Tiara, Tucker, Torrence, Curtis, Jeremy, Carlos, Trey; her special daughters Ashley and family, Sarah and family; her special sons Koda and family, Leslie and family, Leonard and family; great grandchildren Zion, Zandrixic, Octavius, Lanessai, Diaz; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, best friends Valerie and Kevin Whyte; and many other family and friends too numerous to mention.
She is now reunited with her parents Luke and Caroline Dumas; grandparents; her son Lanny; her grandchildren Dre, Keyon, Talon, Heavenly Joy; her siblings Sandra, Marie Rose, Wayne, Ralph and Luke; and numerous family members that have gone before us. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
