Leonard Palanychka Obituary

             Leonard George Palanychka was born Tuesday, June 22, 1937. Len was born in The Pas, Manitoba to Mike and Kate Palanychka and was the second oldest sibling.

             Len was the kindest, gentlest soul who will be missed by his family. 

             Len moved to Thompson to work at the INCO mine until his retirement.  He then moved back to The Pas to care for his elderly parents until their passing.

Len had a love of sports; Montreal Canadians, Toronto Blue Jays and curling.  He made a few trips to watch and cheer for his favorite teams.  Len also traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, Montreal Expo and the Moscow Olympics.  He made several trips to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to visit his brother Mike and Norman and their families.  Len also visited relatives in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.  He made several trips to The Pas for family gatherings.

While living in Thompson, Len loved to curl and play chess.  He would also spend his summer vacations at the cabin at Clearwater Lake.

Len was predeceased by his parents Mike and Kate Palanychka; one infant sister and two infant brothers; his sister Lucy Deters; brothers-in-law Clarence Deters, Elmer Deters, Joe Deters; sisters-in-law Shannon Palanychka, Janet Fox; niece Rhea Fox, nephew Paul Urban; step nephew David Fox; as well as numerous relatives.

Len leaves to mourn his passing his brothers Mike Palanychka, Norman (Sharon) Palanychka; sister-in-law Caroline Deters; niece Lana (Conrad) Hrappstead; nephews Richard Hrappstead, Alan (Sheena) Hrappstead and their children Nala and Theo; Brian (Shawna) Hrappstead and their children Luke, Brett and Arizona; niece Andrea (Mike) Yarema and their children Alexandra, Matthew and Mason; nieces Cassandra and Aurora Urban; nephew Quentin Palanychka and his children Jayden, Raven and Dalin; step nieces Jamie Panco-Fox and Patricia Fox.
