Lillian was born Thursday, January 8, 1948 in The Pas, Manitoba to Elizabeth and John Young. Lillian passed away peacefully with family by her side Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 75 years.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Young; brothers Jack, Walter and Joseph; sisters Elizabeth, Rosalyn, Josephine Esther and Edith; son John Blaine Flett; daughter Gwen Kirkness; grandson Evan.
Lillian is survived by her husband Gordon Landriault; children Angela Young (Autumn, Aura and Arthur); Dayle Sutherland (Jacey {Brandi and their daughters Hannah, Savanah, Kaysen}, Reggie Nicole {Rylan}, McKenna, Tyger-Lily, Micah, Bonnie and Theo); Erin Sutherland (Vincent, Aubree and JJ {Jaxton John}), Pam (husband Kevin: children Cathleen, Terrance, Conan) David (wife Darlene: children Nicole, Linden and David Jr.) and Shane (wife Kathleen: children Allison and Andrea), Logan (partner Judy and daughter Mabel), Wade; brothers Ken Young (Yvette), Marcel Young (Vivian) and Bernard Young (Florence); sisters Betsy, Maria, Doris; sister-in-law Muriel Young; brother-in-law Ron Levielle; son-in-law William Kirkness and children Jeffrey David (Eva and Simon), Zachery, Chloe; Along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren (20) and great grandchildren (30). Numerous children who they fostered over the years who still call her Granny whenever they saw her around OCN and The Pas, greeting her with big hugs. Whether long term or short term placement – all the children, Lillian always remained in their lives.
Lillian’s favourite past times were playing Kanasta and online card games, listening to Cree Hymns and old country music and Elvis, sewing, embroidery, cooking and spending her time with her great grand babies JJ, Vincent and Aubree – who she would ask for daily. Holidays were always special for her, she loved all her children home along with visits from brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews. Lillian was also a great cook with credentials and selflessly cooked for family gatherings and funerals.
