Marcel was born in Swan River on Friday, May 8, 1964. He spent the majority of his life in the Pas, Manitoba.
Marcel worked at the Shell Self Serve for approximately 43 years. He started working there at 17 years old, up until his death at 60 years old after a battle with cancer.
Marcel enjoyed a full life. He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors. He spent many hours traveling on his motorcycle, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing and playing pool.
Marcel had a love for animals. He was well known for feeding the neighbourhood dogs even when he never owned a dog. He would pull up to his yard from a trip and 4 or 5 dogs would come running to greet him, looking for treats.
He loved being in his shop doing mechanical and welding work.
Marcel is survived by his brothers and sisters and their families: Rena
(Bob) Kinney, Elsie (Ron) Moar, Ron (Wendy) Chief, Allen (Ellie) Chief, Lucy Apps; brother-in-law Allan Joe.
Marcel was predeceased by his sisters Linda Joe, Karen Chief and Terry Chief; and his parents Mike and Leona Chief.
Marcel will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
In keeping with Marcel's wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life and burial will take place August 23, 2025 1:00 pm at 837 Turk Road (Mile 5) Carrot Valley (black and white house on the right.
Interment will follow at 2:30 at Lakeside Cemetery, The Pas.
Following interment, luncheon will be held at 837 Turk Road, please bring your own chair.
