Marcus was born on Sunday, January 5, 1986 in The Pas, Manitoba. At age 39 years old, it is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Marcus Constant at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday, August 22, 2025, with family by his side after battling cancer.
Survived by his mother Freda (Nasikapow) Constant; stepfather Wilfred Osborne sister Selma Constant (his neestow, David Braaten); nieces Deseray Richard and Anneleise Braaten; uncles Howard (Barbara) Nasikapow, Ralph (Flora) Nasikapow, Charles (Ann) Nasikapow, Allard (Miriam) Nasikapow, Andrew Nasikapow (aunty Viola); aunties Cora Captain, Sylvia Buck, Rhoda Nasikapow, Flora (Douglas) Harper; Godchildren Kruz Ettawakapow, Jordan Peters; and Marcus’s Godfather Andrew Nasikapow; his childhood best friend PJ Buck; and all his cousins and friends too numerous to name. Surviving brothers Tony (Tammy) Constant, Conrad (Priscilla) Constant; niece and nephews Joni, Leland, and Cullan.
Marcus was predeceased by grandparents Jack and Priscilla Nasikapow; Godmother Mary Umpherville; and all extended relatives too numerous to mention.
Marcus resided in Mosakahiken Cree Nation for most of his life. He had a lot of love for all who knew him. Marcus was known to have enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He will always be remembered by his group of friends, “Freda’s Angels” which he had a brother bond with many of the “Boysuk”, is what he called them. Marcus was always caring and understanding, a person so giving and loving who has made an impact on all fortunate enough to have met him. Marcus will be missed by all who knew him.
