I lived in The Pas while I attended nursing school and worked home care as an aide. During this time Mike was dear to my heart. Mike’s motivation and perseverance and utter joy for life were inspirational to me. At a time where I was struggling in life he reminded me about the true meaning and how any barrier could be overcome. He was proof of that. Today I am once again at a time in my life where I am struggling and I instantly thought of Mike! Telling his story to my partner I was given hope because he accomplished so much in his life despite his disability. I was so saddened when I searched him on the internet to find out he passed away. Thank you Mike for your impact on the world, you are a great man and your legacy will live on in your work.

My sincere & heartfelt condolences are hereby conveyed to Michael's family and extended family members. I am saddened by his passing, but also thankful for having the opportunity of associating with him for a number of years..In spite of his disability, Mike was always pleasant, displayed a positive attitude and was interesting to converse with. I will forever cherish my  visitations with him at the Szadiak home. I will also remember transporting him and his side kick (wheel chair) to the weekly Tuesday Nite bingo at the Nor-Lite Hall during my tenure at The Pas during the 1960's and 1970's.    May He Rest In Peace!!

Michael was a wonderful, kind soul, his beautiful blue eyes lit up the room. I spent a lot of time in his presence with my grandma, the late Eleanor Fenner. She loved praying with him so much and he was such a dear close friend to her. I am very thankful for the joy he brought into her life and I remember him fondly. There was something soothing about hearing his ventilator, his raspy voice and the crinkles in the corner of his eyes when he smiled. I loved seeing him scoot around town in his electric chair, we would always say “oh, there goes Michael!”. I know how devout he was, and I am sure my grandmother was waiting for her dear friend in heaven, they were prayer warriors together. To be able to witness such a true friendship was a great honor. My sincerest condolences to his family, he was truly incredible.

Dear Mary and Family, You are in our hearts and prayers as you grieve the loss of your dear brother Mike. We were so privileged to get to know him during our years in The Pas and to have visited more recently in Winnipeg on the occasion of his birthday. Mike was truly a man of inspiration to so many people and an example of courage as he lived out his life in faith surrounded by the love of his family and friends. We are sad not to be able to join you for Friday’s service but be assured we are with you in spirit. All our live, Grahme and Shirley
