Patricia “Pat” Caroline Mary Jory (nee Kennedy) was born on Saturday, July 19, 1947 in Russell, Manitoba to Blanche Elizabeth Johnstone and George Taylor Kennedy.
Pat grew up on the family farm with her two brothers until the family moved to The Pas in 1961 when she was 13 years old. In 1963, George, Blanche, Peter, Roy and Pat welcomed Gerald to the family. The family then moved to Bowsman, Manitoba and then back to the Carrot Valley and built a new home.
On Friday, October 18, 1968 Pat was united in marriage to Victor Jory at the United Church in Bowsman, Manitoba. Pat and Victor poured their lives into their farm and their trucking company called Jory’s Trucking Inc.. Their hard work let them build their dream house which was set on the foundation in the Carrot Valley on August 23, 1989 and unexpectedly on August 24, 1989, Victor passed away from a farming accident. They were married for 21 years.
Over the next couple of years Pat sold Jory’s Trucking Inc. and put her heart and soul into completing her dream home along with continuing to develop the farm.
Pat was a person who enjoyed her garden, flower beds, her animals and being with her family. She was a strong willed, positive lady that you could always find working on the farm or her family’s farm.
On June 20, 1995, Pat was united in marriage to Jack Lindsay in Golden, BC, in the home of Don and Jan Angus. They continued to work on both their farms and slowly downsized as the years passed.
Patricia passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at her home, on the farm, at the age of 72 years.
Pat is survived by her husband Jack Lindsay; brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Patricia Kennedy (Saltcoats, SK); nieces Kayla, Daisy, Taylor Kennedy (Saltcoats, SK) and Lindsay Kennedy (Winnipeg, MB); great nephews Mason, Carter Jr. (Winnipeg, MB) and Shilo (Bredenbury, SK).
