Robert Hrabarchuk Obituary

It is with great sadness, and gratitude for his life, that we announce the passing of Peter Robert Hrabarchuk. Bob was born Oct. 16. 1964 in Melville Sask.

Growing up, Bob spent summers at the cabin at Clearwater Lake where he further developed his love and respect for nature and the outdoors. Bob was most content while out exploring, fishing, being on the lake and spending summer evenings sitting around the fire with his siblings and many cousins.

After graduating high school, Bob worked with family at the store where he was able to further expand his deep appreciation for music and generously shared his knowledge and expertise with his family, coworkers and the many people who frequented the business. Bob took a brief hiatus from the family business to attend KCC and acquire a Computer Programming & Analysis degree. Although challenging, going to college was an experience Bob thoroughly enjoyed and proudly graduated with accolades.

In addition to being an avid Celtics, Rangers and Cubbies sport fan, Bob spent many years himself playing softball and basketball in local leagues. His historic and contemporary sports knowledge was paramount and he relished any opportunity to watch and discuss sporting events with family and friends – especially so when rival teams were competing during playoffs.

Bob enjoyed good banter and appreciated all opinions and ideas while engaging in rhetorical debate with others, even when they opposed his own. As a voracious reader of non-fiction historical dialogue and biographies, as well as numerous classics in literature, Bob was well equipped for the task.

Inheriting both his grandmothers’ green thumb, Bob took pride in growing the most fruitful plants and flowers. Helping mom and dad with gardening and providing growing advice, seeds, or cuttings to anyone who asked were reflective of his passion for horticulture.

Bobs love for nature and animals was extended to the local neighborhood stray cats to which he would often feed. On two occasions, he was able to take in and provide a good home for Poodey and Chalky who were his beloved furry companions for many years.

Family was very important to Bob and he took special interest in his nieces and nephews who were his little beacons of light.

Bobs honest, generous, sensitive, and caring nature will be fondly remembered and deeply valued by all who loved and knew him.

“When the Power of Love Overcomes the Love of Power the world will know Peace.” Unknown

Bob is survived by his parents Adrienne and Eugene Hrabarchuk of The Pas, Loving brother of Blair Hrabarchuk of Dauphin, Ron (Jennifer) Hrabarchuk, and sister Jo-Ann Hrabarchuk of The Pas.  He will also be sadly missed by his nieces Kelly Hrabarchuk (Brandon Chartier), Laura Hrabarchuk, and Claire Hrabarchuk and nephews, Colin Hrabarchuk, Adrian Hrabarchuk and Corey Hrabarchuk.  Many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
