Ronald Illsley was born on January 17, 1960, in The Pas, Manitoba, the youngest of two born to Ron and Yuonne Illsley. Ron spent his formative years in The Pas, here he received his education. His inaugural professional endeavor was at the family run business Starlight Drive Inn, Famous Players Theatre and the bowling alley in Otineka Mall. In 1978 he relocated to Alberta with his family and later became independent in the early 1980s. He worked at an Edmonton printing company, producing cardboard boxes, until an accident led to a career shift as a heavy duty equipment operator, specializing in backhoe operation.
Ron was an exceptionally kind, generous and independent individual, he was deeply devoted to his parents and dedicated to their care throughout their lives. He had a profound affinity for Clearwater Lake and returned to The Pas in 2021. His leisure activities included hunting, riding his Harley and frequenting the shooting range, with a particular passion for firearms.
Ron is survived by his brother Bill Illsley. Ron was predeceased by his father Ron Illsley Sr. and his mother Yvonne Illsley.
