It is with deep sorrow that the family of Ron Umpherville announces his passing at the age of 60 years, Saturday December 27, 2025 at the Brandon Regional Hospital after an illness due to a severe stroke that left his left side paralyzed in January of 2020.
Ron was born Sunday, July 25, 1965 in The Pas, Manitoba. Ron was hired at Canadian National Railway and became a Railroad Engineer, a job that he truly enjoyed until his retirement. Ron met the love of his life, Heather and they were married shortly after in 1992 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral in The Pas, and welcomed their daughter Caleigh, twin sons Jordan and Brennen, and youngest daughter Daryn, soon after. Ron and Heather had 33 beautiful years of marriage.
Ron always enjoyed family vacations, taking the kids to the Calgary Stampede and then to the Caves at Clearwater Lake. On his days off Ron enjoyed golfing and tried to get as many games in as possible from March until November! Being a husband and father was Ron's greatest joy, he was always there to not only care for his family but he took the time to notice the little things, ready to offer thoughtful advice and encouragement.
Ron was very kind, generous and a fun guy to be around and because of this he had many, many friends. Hanging out with Ron was always an adventure, a story worth telling again and again, a memory that brings smiles to all who knew him. June 15, 2011 was one of the best days for Ron when the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup! Ron's unwavering determination and his "never give up" attitude inspired everyone to believe in themselves and his presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife Heather; his daughters Caleigh (Jack) Cole, Daryn Umpherville; his sons Jordan and Brennen Umpherville; grandchildren Nelliyah, Hudson and Heath Cole; sister Leona Ducharme (Robin); and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his infant brother Raymond; sister Alice; parents Leonard and Verna Umpherville. If we forgot anyone, it was not intentional.
