Shawn Malcolm Gordon McGillivary, dear son of Betty Ann and David McGillivary Jr. was born Monday, January 18, 1993 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba.
Shawn had 4 children Thiago Theyer, Joshua Anthony, Jeremiah Andre, Jayce Aryton and step son Jayden Antoine.
He loved to play soccer and played for numerous teams within OCN.
Shawn had numerous odd jobs around the surrounding communities and received his education at Joe A. Ross School on OCN.
Shawn liked to spend time with his many friends he made everywhere he went, especially with his brother Shane, the two of them were together all the time, and together that special bond will be greatly felt.
Shawn was a very outgoing personality and loved to express himself, he would never leave home without telling his mom, “I LOVE YOU.”
Shawn passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 33 years.
Shawn will be deeply missed by this parents Betty Ann and David McGillivary Jr.; sisters Ashley Constant, Shyanne (Henry) McGillivary, Courtney (Eddie) McGillivary; his one and only brother Shane Preston; grandfather John H. Constant; aunties Helen (Leo) Linklater, Mary Ann (Thomas) Ranville, Lillian (Ryan) Clemons, Carol Constant-Ballantyne, and Tasha Mae Scott; uncles Milburn John Constant, Ray T. Constant and Jason Charles (Chelsea) Constant; nieces Haylen Anne, Aria Kehlani, Naia Mae, Hazlyn, Hallie Faith, Hailey Nicole; nephews Callum Travis, Terrance Aryton, Maverick James, Wilfred David, Nicholas Rain, Jayden Wilfred.
Proceeded by daughter Heaven Ellicott, Angel McGillivary; grandparents David and Sally McGillivary, Mae Beardy-Scott (Bill); auntie Abigail McGillivary; uncle Brent Ballantyne; cousins Delaney McGillivary, Tyler (Simba) Ballantyne and Keenan Emery Young. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
