Stacey Knight Obituary

Stacey was born Tuesday, February 7, 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, to Beatrice and Clifford Buck.  Her first year home, she was blessed to have five uncles and one auntie to shower her with their love.  Stacey had a special bond with her Chap-pan, Jack Knight, whom she called “Money Bags.”  Her grandparents, grandpa and granny Buck called her “Washable”.

Through her teen years, her grandmother Charlotte helped her through troubled times.  In her teen years she played sports, volleyball, floor hockey and soccer.  When she graduated grade 9 in Moose Lake School, she resumed her education in Cranberry Portage and graduated grade 12 in 2003, while pregnant with her first son Jackson.  Stacey doted on her baby.  When Jackson turned one, she started to work at the school.

Throughout her years, she grew up with her brother Mario.  They were close right up to her passing.  Stacey was seven years when her second brother Cliff Jr. was born.  She babied her baby brother Cliff.  Stacey was very close to her brothers.  Together they looked after each other.

In May 12, 2006, she met her true love, Dwayne Cook.  They were blessed with their baby Rieko.  Stacey’s greatest joy was watching her baby play hockey for The Pas Huskies.

Stacey touched so many lives.  She would go out of her way to help people.  She loved joking around with her aunties, uncles and cousins.  Stacey showed respect to her elders.  Her greatest love was to her dad.  She grew up a daddy’s girl until her passing.  Stacey’s two boys Jackson and Rieko will always remind us of her loving memory.

Stacey passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 36 years.

Stacey will always be cherished by her true love Dwayne Cook; sons Jackson Knight and Rieko Cook; parents Beatrice and Clifford Buck; brothers Mario Knight, Clifford Buck Jr.; uncles Irving (Jennifer) Umpherville, Wesley Sr. (Vinetta) Umpherville, Peter Lathlin; aunties Nancy (Tom) Balfour, Verna (Gilbert) Pronteau, Wilma (Glen) Sanderson, Edna Nabess, Mariah Scott, Connie (Kennedy) Flett, Paula Lathlin, Mariam (John George)Campbell, Margaret (Glen) Ross, Elaine Buck, Annie (Abraham) Tobacco, Josephine Sanderson; nephews Trevor Knight, Aiden Knight; nieces Jacqueline Knight, Pursayus Scott; grandmother Patricia Lathlin; mother-in-law Mary Dick; brother-in-law Shane (Raylee) Dick; Godparents Wesley Umpherville and Annie Tobacco.

Stacey was predeceased by grandparents Pat and Matilda Buck, Charlotte Knight, David Lathlin; great grandparents Robert and Adelaide Sanderson, Jack and Sarah Knight; uncles Albert Knight, Paul Tobacco, James Buck Sr., George McNabb; aunties Jeannie Knight, Margaret Buck. If we forgot anyone it was not intentional.
