Ted Morin passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, with his loved ones by his side, at the Brandon Regional Hospital, Brandon, Manitoba, at the age of 66 years.
Born on Monday, February 8th, 1960 to Charles and Helen Morin of Cranberry Portage, Ted grew up in Cranberry Portage and attended Cranberry Portage Elementary School and Frontier Collegiate Institute. In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey and spending time with family and friends.
Ted began his working life at INCO in Thompson, Manitoba, alongside his father. He later worked with the Department of Public Works in Cranberry Portage. Determined to further his education, Ted earned his Red Seal in plumbing — a trade he took great pride in throughout his life. His career led him to work on major projects across Manitoba, including schools, hospitals, and large construction developments. He was especially proud to have contributed to the construction of the virology lab in Winnipeg. Over time, Ted established his own plumbing business, working throughout The Pas, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, and surrounding northern communities. Through his work, he built many lasting friendships and became well known and respected in the North.
On July 10, 1982, Ted married Donna May Allan of Fillmore, Saskatchewan. Together they raised their two sons, Nathan and Allan. As a family, they enjoyed travelling — including a memorable trip to New Zealand to visit family, and vacations to Cuba, one of Ted’s favourite holiday destinations.
Ted was predeceased by his beloved wife Donna May; his parents Charles and Helen Morin; his brothers Gordon, James, and Daniel; and his sisters Audrey, Theresa, and Lorette.
He leaves to mourn his sons, Nathan (Samantha) and Allan (Nikita); his longtime
companion Judy; his sisters Fay, Pearl, Bertha, Elise, and June; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends and in-laws across Canada.
