Terry was born Thursday, June 14, 1962 in Balcarres, SK to Bob and Bernice Desjarlais and was a brother to three (3) sisters, Brenda, Tracy, Lisa, whom he loved dearly and enjoyed becoming an uncle to each of their children.
Terry was united in marriage to Kecia Lathlin on April 27, 1996 and together raised (3) three children.
In his earlier years Terry was employed with the OCN Recreation Department from 2000-2004 and was also involved with the OCN Minor Hockey Program as president.
He later on went to work with the OCN Blizzard Hockey Club as a trainer and equipment manager. The Blizzard was his second family and he cared so much about the team.
Terry also had a passion for cooking and later in his years, along with his business partner Chris Sinclair, opened up The Venice House Pizza Restaurant on Opaskwayak Cree Nation. It was during this time Terry had ran into health complications and had to stop working due to his health.
If you knew Terry he was straight up awesome guy that loved joking and teasing and also had a humorous personality to make people laugh and always enjoyed talking and chatting on the telephone with friends for hours on end and was given the nickname operator.
He was also a loving and caring father and Papa to his grandchildren and always made sure to check on them at the end of each night by calling or facetiming them to say goodnight and to tell them he loved them.
Terry had a special bond with a group of ladies whom he called his “Bingo Babes”. He always enjoyed joking and teasing with them whenever they would stop in for a visit. He also enjoyed volunteering and spending time with his gospel family whom he traveled to be with whenever there was a Gospel Jamboree to be found.
Terry passed away, peacefully with family by his side Monday, October 9, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 61 years.
Terry leaves to mourn his wife Kecia; and his children Terri (Steve), Carl (Nicole), Steven (Danielle); and his partner in crime “Small Dog”; sisters Brenda (Russell), Tracy, Lisa; traditional brothers and sisters, aunties, uncles, cousins along with numerous relatives and extended family.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Bob and Bernice Desjarlais; brother Randy; sisters and brothers-in-law; also numerous relatives too many to mention. If we missed anyone it was not intentional.
