Valerie Constant Obituary

Valerie Constant (nee Sanderson) was born on Sunday, November 7, 1965,  at Carrot River Union Hospital, in Carrot River, Saskatchewan.

In her early years, she resided in Red Earth, Saskatchewan,  with both her parents, Solomon and Nora, along with her siblings;  Anthony, Caroline and Jerry.  She resided there until she met her husband, Paul Constant.

She first met Paul in The Pas, Manitoba.  Valerie was visiting with friends and relatives and met during a viewing of a scary film.  They hit it off instantly, then proceeded to date for the next few years.  Paul would travel back and forth.  A lot of the time he would hitch hike to go see her.

Valerie would always watch him play baseball and wait for him after the game to give him his victory hug.  It was meant to be.  They dated approximately 3 years.  On December 13, 1985 they got married.  That is 40 years of marriage, quite a milestone.

Life moved pretty fast for Valerie after this.  She had 3 beautiful children: Edward, Monica, and Samantha.  Valerie was very close with her children.  Sharing her knowledge with them and was always open to answer any questions that they had.  Valerie loved them and her family fully and without bias.

Valerie liked to go fishing, camping, travelled alot to many areas in Saskatchewan to visit her extended family, and loved to watch movies.  She also enjoyed opening her home to help  family and friends, and also her children’s friends.

Valerie and the family stayed in Red Earth for a short time, then moved to Nipawin and finally, The Pas, Manitoba, where she lived out her last days.

Valerie passed away on November 22, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba at the age of 60 years.  She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Albert Constant; son Edward Bradford Constant; daughters Monica Jessie Amelia Constant and Samantha Jo Constant; adoptive son Vince (Denesha) Ballantyne; brothers Anthony (Delphine) Sanderson; sister Caroline (Joseph) Sanderson; brother Jerry Garvin. Her nieces: Penny, Daphne, Antonia, Kayla, Cassandra and Mya. Her grandchildren: Kyla, Michael, Jake, Aliah, Ethan, Sophie, Elizabeth, Layla, Kaylee (Maximus Head) Jayden, Kaidyn, Macie, Diane, Raiden, Pierson, Camero, Immy, Vincent, Penelope, Deelan, Delson, Lexa, Solomon and Stanley and numerous family and friends to mention.

She is predeceased by her parents Solomon Sanderson and Nora Sanderson; in-laws Moses Edward and Helen Edith Constant (nee Badger);  their son Paul Sanderson, brother-in-law Edgar Edward Constant, sister-in-law Gertrude Constant and grandsons Rowen and Levi. If we have left anyone out, it was not intentional.
