It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Faye Harper, who passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, Manitoba, at the age of 71 years.
Valerie was born on Friday, October 29, 1954, in Melfort, Saskatchewan, and later made her home in Edmonton, Alberta. She spent much of her working life at Bradcan Caulking, where her dedication and strong work ethic reflected the kind of person she was—dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Valerie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden, golfing, snowboarding, camping, and trying her luck at the casino. Some of her happiest moments were spent sitting on her deck, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the company of those she loved.
Above all else, Valerie's greatest passion was her family. She cherished every opportunity to cook family dinners, gather everyone together, and spend precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.
Known for her bright spirit, incredible strength, and beautiful soul, Valerie always wanted the very best for those around her. She had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten anyone's day, and she was always there to offer a listening ear, kind words, or support whenever it was needed. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Valerie leaves behind her loving spouse, Irvin; her cherished daughters, Tammy, Michelle and Bobbie; her beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie, Samantha, Taylor, Jordan and Zackary; and her adored great-grandchildren, Nivaya, Harlow and Remy; siblings Lanny Chudyk, Bonnie Chudyk, Randal Chudyk, Michael Chudyk, Lori Chudyk; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Valerie was predeceased by her parents Peter and Faye Chudyk; brothers Lynn Chudyk and Gregory Chudyk.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Valerie's love, laughter, strength, and kindness will continue to live on through the family she cherished so deeply. Her memory will forever be a blessing, and she will be loved and missed beyond words. Forever in our hearts, always in our memories.
