Wilma Cook was born Monday, May 9, 1960 to the proud parents of Leslie “Melasche” Cook and Helen “kitchenkan” Cook. Wilma suddenly passed away March 21, 2025 at St Anthony’s General Hospital at the age of 64 years old.

Wilma enjoyed the game of slo-pitch with her pals, The MJ Selects. She also enjoyed carpentry work where she studied at K.C.C. She was also a hockey fan of the Edmonton Oilers club. She took Jamie to his first NHL game back in 1986, while she lived in Winnipeg for a few years. Jamie was a Jet’s fans but Wilma’s team won the Oilers.
Wilma loved listening to all sorts of music from Country classic to Rock n Roll. She was also a big fan of PINK FLOYD. Wilma also enjoyed the company of her neighbors on Riverside. She was everyone’s aunty and soon became everyone’s Kookum once those children grew up on Riverside. She loved it when family and friends would come over and watch the fireworks at her place on Canada Day. A letter from Heaven
When tomorrow starts without me
And I’m not here to see
If the sun should rise and find
your eyes, filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today.
While thinking of the many things,
We didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss
me too.
When tomorrow, starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
